Overview

As a tenant it's your responsibility to help us look after your home by carrying out small maintenance tasks.

It's important to stay safe when carrying out any of these tasks, no matter how big or small the job is. If you feel like you need help, please ask a friend or relative or call us on 0300 123 6633.

Condensation

We take a zero tolerance approach to damp and mould. We are here to support customers who are struggling with these issues. For information on how to reduce condensation, see condensation and mould.

Electrics

What to do if your power goes out

Check to see if your neighbours have power. If they don't the fault is likely to do with the supplier.

If they have power, make sure you check:

  • If your electric meter is on
  • The money in your credit meter hasn't run out
  • That the fuse box hasn't tripped

What causes a fuse box to trip

A fuse box can trip because of:

  • An overloaded circuit from using too many appliances
  • A faulty appliance
  • An overfilled kettle
  • Faulty connections on an appliance lead
  • A faulty immersion heater

You should make sure you know where your fusebox is as soon as your move into your home.

Drains, gullies and gutters

Make sure you keep your drains, gullies and gutters clear from leaves and twigs.

If your gullies are clear from debris and the water still doesn't run away, report it to a member of our team.

If your gutters have weed and plant growth, get in touch on 0300 123 6633.
